Australian SANDALWOOD OIL

(HIGH GRADE AND STANDARD GRADE)

Australian Sandalwood grows naturally in Western Australia. The Paperbark Co. purchases its wood from both the Western Australian Forest Products Commission (FPC), the government body responsible for the sale of sandalwood harvested from Crown Land, and from private sources, who are licenced by the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPAW) to wild-harvest an agreed annual quota. Harvesters of Australian Sandalwood are required to conform in all respects with the environmental and operational requirements of DPAW in order to maintain a sustainable harvesting operation.

The Paperbark Co. was the first company in Australia to produce steam-distilled Australian Sandalwood Oil, which is distilled at the Company’s facilities in Harvey.  The Paperbark Co. currently specialises in the production of High Grade Australian Sandalwood Oil, which is extracted from various wood grades sourced from premium growing regions.  This oil has an alpha santalol content of greater than 25%, which is considerably higher than other Australian Sandalwood Oils on the market. The Paperbark Co. also produces a Standard Grade Australian Sandalwood Oil which meets the AS 2112:2003 and ISO specification for alpha santalol content of 15 to 25%.
